The One Thing That Has Seriously Changed My Biz This Year

I started Ideal Connections in January 2009.  This business is still in the baby stages which is a double edged sword.  Growing pains suck.  There.  I said it.  I know they are necessary and they hurt and are uncomfortable.  Thank God I have a clear vision for my life and my biz that powers me to stay the course.

The good edge of the sword is my business is very malleable.  I am able to make changes quickly, implement new strategies quickly and effectively and as soon as I see something’s not working I’m able to stop it.

The one thing that’s had the biggest impact on my biz this year is attending conferences!!!!  I attended my first one last October.  It was so fruitful I changed my whole marketing strategy to focus on big conferences vs. smaller networking events.  Why did this work so well for me?

• My services are virtual/remote.  Therefore, when I meet someone at a conference location doesn’t matter.  What matters is if we’re a good fit to do business together.
• My services are not for the masses.  I am provide B2B services.  My clients are always business owners.  So I have to go where there’s a concentration of business owners.
• Generally I have found that people paying for these conferences and investing in the travel and time it takes to attend have a big enough business to support that activity.  Not always, but more often than not I meet business owners who actually have annual revenues and budgets.

So there ya go.  I am seriously looking forward to my next trip coming up on the 24th and 25th to the Prosper Now Event.  This is a great example of taking advantage of the opportunity to be in the space of some of the most successful biz people in the world – and network with those they attract!
